This thread is so worth reading if you care about books. Also I worry that Amazon's recent policy change to allow KU books to be in libraries is going to solidify their strangehold on the indie ebook market, because authors who might have peeled of so they could do library distro can now stay.
I don't think we're going to have a successful Amazon boycott till we break their monopoly on indie books.
They have a clever strategy to build their monopoly, which any functional government would have banned: if you want your indie book listed in Kindle Unlimited, you have to be exclusive. 🧵

It's very strange querying one book while writing the next. Is my brain in elf-mode or zombie-mode? Are the side characters a werewolf & a hacker or a [redacted] & a necromancer? Is there a familiar and is that familiar a giant snail? These are the questions I must ask myself.

It’s not official yet, but after no news from @alaskaairlines.bsky.social I’m just going to assume they can’t find my jacket. Maybe it got tossed, but I’m actually hoping another Tamora Pierce fan found it and decided to keep it. That’s better than it being in an airport dumpster somewhere
