Racism loses once again. It feels good!
It is really funny for FlyQuest to get called out last year for cultural reductionism with their MSI jersey, attempt to excuse it by claiming they're paying respect to the Chinese zodiac, and IMMEDIATELY doubling down this year by using meaningless, unrelated snake iconography on the Worlds jersey.

My paper published in JEGE is now publicly available on my website. I take a look at the "TLCK" narrative in 2023 and 2024, and how imports, Asian diaspora, and White players in particular reflect modern anxieties about Asians and immigrants in North America.
