I was never that hyped for the first Mario movie, but I enjoyed it fine.
This one though, I'm actually quite excited!
Elements from Sunshine, Galaxy, Odyssey, and Wonder could be very neat.

I really like how Hades handles the story-telling, and it's something I think more games should emulate.

Just rolled credits on Hades 2.
I'm also currently re-reading Stephen Fry's Mythos series.
I think I like Hades so much because it's basically Mythos: The Game (or Mythos is Hades: The Novel).
The Gods presented not as myth but as people, a family, and a very dysfunctional one at that.

Just rolled credits on Hades 2.
I'm also currently re-reading Stephen Fry's Mythos series.

I still feel the same as with the original. Being stingy with maps and forcing you to get back to where you died runs completely counter to the Metroidvania genre.
If I fail at a boss, I want to go the OTHER way to find health upgrades or somesuch.

Almost finished with Nine Sols, just the final boss left to go.
I'm never that big on the lore in these kinds of games, and this one in particular tries way too hard to be grimdark.
But the blend of fantasy and sci-fi is cool, the gameplay is great and the boss design is immaculate.

Just finished the Elliot demo. I like the idea, and it looks great, but it needs more time in the oven.
In particular, the combat doesn't feel smooth.
Attacks lock you in place without moving an inch, so it's very easy to push enemies out of range and just swing at the air.

I love the series, but the immediate emphasis on building puts me off a lot.
Elliot actually interests me a lot more, although I'd have to play the demo to see if the combat is as clunky as it looks.
But somehow I'm actually móst interested in MH Stories 3!
