ICE is abducting and disappearing mothers and fathers, taking them to undisclosed detention facilities. They are separating parents and children. They are operating as instruments of power in a burgeoning police state. ICE IS AMERICA'S GESTAPO!
Please RT this very powerful and heartbreaking cartoon.

Democratic leadership could not hold their caucus together. The 8 Democrats who voted to end the shutdown are complicit--along with Republicans and Trump--for the consequence. They ALL lacked the moral courage, and now 24 million could lose their healthcare. A disgrace!

Any moron could have predicted this: Democrats refuse to budge for 40 days, then cave but get NOTHING. As subsidies set to spike and Obamacare set to crumble, the blowback for Dems will be fierce.

Swing voter focus groups: Shutdown blowback for Dems
Even some voters who backed President Trump last November look to Democrats to protect the social safety net.

Some are saying it'll be Repubs who lose on Obamacare subsidies because their "no" vote will cost them. I disagree. I think the losers r the 24 million who'll lose their health insurance, and tens of thousands who will die, and the ACA itself--which will die without subsidies needed to sustain it.

There's an entire unified house caucus who's against the senate dems "deal"
To place a blanket blame on all dems is kinda irresponsible. Meanwhile dems in the senate have done done this twice to the house dems.

There will be a vote next month in the Senate but no guarantee of one in the House--which means they could grant a simple up or down vote. Does Kaine actually think Democrats have any power to protect those subsidie? If so, why and how?
This article is more pragmatic than I'm feeling right now. But it's right. What's done is done. I still want leadership change, but I also want them ready for whatever is coming next.

Trump and Republicans will send us plenty more fights
Why Democrats need to get over their shutdown crackup — and fast
The party has a chance as soon as next month to exploit Republican divisions on its No. 1 issue. But that will require an end to the current fury.

This "deal" was never about ending the shutdown. The pearl in the shell for Republicans was always Obama's healthcare plan. And the GOP was finally able to toss it over the cliff with the help of "our" party.

There will be no ACA subsidy extension. The House isn't even open to allowing a vote. There were 5 Democrats previous to last night who had already voted with their Republican comrades. Somehow 3 more were cajoled into joining and doing the unthinkable: effectively ending Obamacare.

The Trump Regime and Republicans know that ACA subsidies WILL expire. Dems caving was always a certainy.

Unfortunately, by flinching under pressure after 40 days of "holding Americans hostage" (future GOP ad copy) you've just placed the negative mark on yourself. That this vote comes less than a week after such an amazing election performance is disgraceful.
November 10, 2025 at 1:49 AM
Of all of the things Senate Democrats have done to shoot themselves in the foot since 1/20, this "deal"--if it happens --will be the most morally indefensible and politically asinine.
They believe the voters have their back if they cave - TRY US

God help them if after 40 days Senate Democrats believe they can cave on the shutdown and get nothing in return but false promises

The outrage to Trump + Republicans will also become a flamethrower directed at Senate Democrats

Some may laugh - those are the same people who thought Cuomo would win

Well this sure got old fast:
Democrats have waged an amazing battle to make sure 24 million Americans--more Republicans than Democrat--don't lose their healthcare. This is a moral battle!

"So Democrats get no more than they could have gotten on day 1. They held the entire nation hostage for nothing." --the ad copy for every Republican running in the midtern elections.

If Democrats give up on fight to extend the ACA subsidies, they'll be blamed for the shutdown because they held their ground for 40 days and got ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for their effort. The justifiable question will be: why? You could have gotten nothing on day 1. I hope the stories aren't true!
