Hi Bluesky! 👋

We're SGEU: the Saskatchewan Government and General Employees' Union. If you're interested in worker solidarity, union updates, and opportunities to get involved, you're in the right place.

Give us a follow to stay in the loop!
Yesterday, we welcomed stewards across the province to our 2025 Stewards' Forum!

This two-day forum gives stewards the chance to network, take part in educational sessions and hear from expert speakers to help them on their steward journey.

We wish everyone safe travels as they return home today!

Today, we honour those who served and all who lost their lives in the line of duty.

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

—Laurence Binyon, “For the Fallen”

SGEU is wholeheartedly opposed to attacks on workers’ right to strike.

In SK, we're all too familiar with attempts to undercut our ability to bargain. We stand with AB teachers facing oppressive back-to-work legislation.

An injury to one is an injury to all.

In 1942, Eileen Tallman Sufrin led the first strike of bank employees in Canadian history. She attempted to organize 9,000 Eaton's employees into unions between 1948 and 1952.
Her work led to increased salaries and benefits for the employees.
This is her story.
