I need to vent, iOS 26 is absolute garbage. I’m not complaining about all the changes but it’s buggy as hell. Stock apple apps like weather are asking permission for location data multiple times a day, Siri can’t send a text anymore, watch battery is down from 30h to charging multiple times a day

I see so much FUD about the future of sw engineering, mostly from non-devs. Along the lines of “soon anyone can spin off AI agents in bulk that act as hundreds of devs.”

A false premise. Just open your airline app that is built by ~hundreds of devs over 10+ years

Should work communication outside of 'normal' office hours be accepted? Are we all capable adults who can set boundaries, or must we protect those who can't?

There are tons of little ways to make little bits of money. Don’t get sucked into this. Introducing money impacts your relationships and people start to feel entitled to more of you and your time.

Determine what it is you make your money doing. Do other activities for free or not at all.

Microservices vs monoliths doesn't matter. Write modular code, abstract away services into reusable components, and combine them into one or more artifacts based on your needs.

My samwho.dev/memory-alloc... post did the rounds again this week on Twitter, wanted to share it here as well.

I aim to create beautiful introductions to hard topics, making use of the interactivity the web allows.

I believe anyone can learn anything if it’s presented in a way that works for them.
