🪶 I posted some shots a while back of the Montezuma oropendola. It has a cousin it is often with, the chestnut-headed oropendola. Not quite as loud and flashy, but not quite shy, either. #birds #photography #CostaRica

I found myself with an itch to illustrate the sunset of 2025 with some of my favorite sunset photos, so of course that's what I did. Point Richmond, CA, Newport Beach, CA, near Gold Beach, OR, and Napa, CA.
Looking from a hillside in Point Richmond, CA, over the Standard Oil long wharf (it never looked so good!), to the hills of Marin County. From c1971 From the beach across the street from my apartment, between the Newport Beach Pier and the Newport Beach Balboa Pier. C1974. I could not see the beach from my apartment -- just a row of beach houses -- but there was an access path across the street and I used it often to walk here in the afternoon/evening. Just south of Gold Beach, OR, near Pistol River. C2009 From a home in the hills east of the Napa Valley, looking somewhat northwest on a late summer evening. C2016
