People misperceive their rank in the wealth distribution: the wealthy underestimate how much they have compared to others, and people at the bottom of the distribution think that they are doing better compared to others than they actually do. Our research shows that misperceptions shape for savings.

Signed on this letter calling for a permanent International Panel on Inequality: a global, independent body to give policymakers the best evidence on the scale, causes, and consequences of inequality.

Great honour and inspiration to be part of the session on inheritance at the LISIT with @izmartinez86.bsky.social and @bluebery-planterose.com. Looking back on an exciting symposium with super interesting contributions and informal discussions as well as an amazing scenery.
The day continued with a session on Inheritance chaired by @robertoiacono.org and that included presentations by @izmartinez86.bsky.social (earnings responses to sudden wealth), @bluebery-planterose.com (Inheritance and Inequality), and @severinrapp.bsky.social (Leaving legacies and liabilities).
