Intriguing, innovative new Stone Center Working Paper, by @stone-lis.bsky.social postdoc @severinrapp.bsky.social and colleagues. "This paper investigates how participation in a citizens’ assembly affects individuals’ redistributive preferences and (perceived) role in democracy." Do take a look 👇👇👇.
Does deliberative democracy affect peoples’ political agency and redistributive preferences? A new WP by @franziskadbacher.bsky.social, Martin Haselmayer, @lukaslehner.bsky.social, @severinrapp.bsky.social & @frawin.bsky.social uses a field experiment to answer this question.

Great honour and inspiration to be part of the session on inheritance at the LISIT with @izmartinez86.bsky.social and @bluebery-planterose.com. Looking back on an exciting symposium with super interesting contributions and informal discussions as well as an amazing scenery.
The day continued with a session on Inheritance chaired by @robertoiacono.org and that included presentations by @izmartinez86.bsky.social (earnings responses to sudden wealth), @bluebery-planterose.com (Inheritance and Inequality), and @severinrapp.bsky.social (Leaving legacies and liabilities).

Update to the GC wealth project database just out. This great project draws together data on wealth (inequality). Some particularly nice features are:

⚖️ compare different data sources
💰 data on taxation
➗ decomposition of wealth by asset/debt types
