In today’s situation, pro-democracy forces can make one of the following 2 errors:

1) React weakly & slowly against a fascist movement.

2) React quickly & strongly against a movement that is not fascist after all.

A country can afford error #2.
Error #1 would be catastrophic.

Big difference.
Adelita Grijalva was not sworn in the House for 7 weeks while her signature was needed to vote whether to release the Epstein files.

It now appears that dozens of GOP house representatives will vote in favor of releasing them.

So, why didn’t they sign the petition to release the files?

Shameless!

Quick question?

How do one call people who commit deplorable acts? 🤔

PS - no need to answer, it’s a rhetorical question.

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez:

1) What actions will be taken to counter the draconian abuses that will be unleashed on the country with this massive resource allocation to ICE?

2) Why is a general strike not starting tomorrow?

3) If not tomorrow, why not the day after?

This is urgent.

We’re witnessing in America a SCOTUS-induced war among 2 dissimilar, antagonistic groups.

One, in favor of democracy, checks & balances, and rights for all. The other, supportive of autocracy, no checks to the autocrat, and special rights for some.

This conflict can only be settled unpleasantly.

For no particular reason, I thought it would be a good time to repost this.
Those orders will eventually be issued by these MAGA fascists.

When that occurs, there are 3 main outcomes:

1) Military don’t obey: we are in a coup.

2) Military obey: we are in autocracy/dictatorship.

3) Military partially obey: we are in a civil war.

Yeap, elections have consequences.

Forecast: several of the people from Venezuela who are not members of Tren de Aragua and were illegally (without due process) sent to a maximum security prison in another country (El Salvador) will eventually sue the US government for these abuses, and have good chances of winning their cases.

Just made a mistake.

After a long time, I watched the start of Smerconish program.

How can such a package of shallow, pretzel-twisted ideas be aired by CNN?

Ah, almost forgot his exquisite condescending tone when responding to any viewer calls out his garbage: “YOU don’t understand.”

Pathetic.

Appalling request:

1) It’s breathtaking to hear the felon, vice-felon, and the felon-adoring parrots to request Zelensky’s resignation.

2) It’s a new low in US foreign policy which, I’m afraid, will soon be surpassed by these christo-fascists talibans.

3) Zelensky should not resign. Putin should.

Lost in today’s fiasco in the WH (i.e., Trump/Vance attempted ambush of Zelensky) is Trump’s pathetic behavior of
disrespecting previous US presidents in front of media & international leaders.

Such dismal behavior should be unacceptable to all Americans.

Full stop.

In a world in which nuclear super-powers either invade countries or casually talk about annexing/taking other countries, what will other countries eventually do?

Since countries strive for long-term survival, a scenario of nuclear proliferation in multiple other countries is now more likely.

For weeks, I have been wondering about how the US financial markets will react to the ongoing institutional demolition.

Financial markets thrive in a reliable judicial system. After a month of autocracy, a few cracks have appeared, which may signal that investors are starting to be concerned? 🤔

Dear grotesque SCOTUS:

While autocracy takes over America, what do the 6 of you who enabled these events feel at night prior to falling asleep:

1) Intellectual pride
2) Mission accomplished
3) We would do it again
4) Nothing; we don’t care

PS: No need to respond, it is a rhetorical question.
