I genuinely believe a big part of it is because they're part of the party over politics group-so much so that they don't even bother reading deeper into whatever their party's actual supported politics or bills push out.

A general prediction I agree with:
Mamdani's successful mayoral election will result in Trump finding a way to send the National Guard to NYC, legally or not. Tourists will feel threatened, further damaging the image of the US in international relations (more than it already has anyway)
