When people say a college education does not pay off, there's usually less to the argument than meets the eye. We looked at claims that apprenticeships pay more than bachelor's degrees. The claim is misleading, but the big takeaway is we need better data to allow learners to assess the options.
Apprenticeships and college degrees both open pathways to success—but is one "better" than the other?

Comparing earnings between apprenticeships and degrees isn't as straightforward as looking at topline numbers. Unravel the data in a new piece from Public Agenda: publicagenda.org/news/apprent...

Barriers to transferring college credit might sound like a niche issue, but @publicagenda.bsky.social's research found that it affects vast numbers of people and erodes trust in #highereducation. Fortunately, it's a problem that can be fixed.
Views | Reforming the credit transfer process won’t solve every challenge facing higher education, but it’s a clear and necessary step toward improving the system for the good of both students and institutions themselves.

The challenges we face are more acute than those faced by @publicagenda.bsky.social's founders. We celebrate our half-century of accomplishments recognizing that all of us who believe in government of, by, and for the people must level up. A democracy for all remains our North Star.
50 years ago, Dan Yankelovich & Cyrus Vance founded Public Agenda to bridge the gap between leaders & everyday Americans. Today, just as ever, we're guided by one powerful commitment: a democracy for all. Join us as we celebrate five decades of impact.
