Listening to the latest episode of @deathpanel.bsky.social I learned that more 1,000 people in the US have been dying of COVID every week since August. I knew that rate had dropped below 1,000/week for a bit, but didn't realize it was that high again—and staying that high!

Since y'all seem susceptible to writing advice, I say if you're not going to reuse a setting, like a building or house, just have it blow up. Don't even explain. Just blow it up good. Let the reader figure out why all this stuff is blowing up 'cause you couldn't find a use for it
