Finished ‘Ulysses’ and Offa’s Dyke this year (2024), so feeling ‘Billy Goat chuffed.’
#BlackGrape at #Bristol #Electric last night. Great band, wonderful music…but #ShaunRyder barely took his eyes off Kermit all night. He even seemed to be singing to him rather than the audience; the body language was odd.

The Goring Gap from Lardon Chase is a spectacular view of Streatley and Goring on Thames, which are picturesque villages on the borders of Berkshire and Oxfordshire.
The River Thames runs through the valley on its way to London and cuts between the Berkshire Downs and the Chilterns.
Oil on board.

#WilliamBurroughs in ‘Naked Lunch’ mode. Oddly compelling, but his desire to shock seems a touch sad; no doubt it was more potent in 1961. At least a great band was - presumably - partly inspired by this one.

love David Kynaston’s books and currently into this one. Turns out it was a very important year and not just because I was born during it. Superb read.

Very sad to hear that the writer and journalist #RachelCooke has died. I attended a talk by her at the #Watershed in #Bristol a few years back, which was excellent.

Apparently there were 53 air raids on #Stuttgart during #WW2, but, as you can see, our German friends have put it back together. Spent Monday to Wednesday of this week there: great place, lovely people. On the Northern edge of the #BlackForest.

What a great-looking guy. The slight pout adds a touch of attitude and drama. Definitely a classic.
