"How about a game of Pazaak, Republic Senate rules?" 🎴🚀

This is a web-based version of the Star Wars Old Republic card game, Pazaak. Similar to blackjack, the goal is to get as close to 20 points as possible without going over. #retrogaming #starwars

Challenge: code a classic arcade game in a single day. 👾🕹️

The hardware is a @seeedstudio.com Wio Terminal, which comes with a nice 320x240 display, joystick, and a small piezo buzzer for sound effects. The game code is written in @circuitpython.org.

It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
> what is a grue?
The grue is a sinister, lurking presence in the dark places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day...

I like big shrooms and I cannot lie. This is Stropharia rugosoannulata, aka garden giant. They were cultivated outside on a pile of wood chips. #fungifriends 🍄

Late summer harvest: cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplant, peppers and ong choi, aka water spinach (Ipomoea aquatica).

Ong choi is considered an invasive species in parts of the US south and is even on the Federal Noxious Weed list.

It is also on my delicious Asian greens list. 🌱

Original arcade cabinets are hard to find nowadays. Most of the classic games in arcades are a PC running an emulator with an LED monitor.

The CRT on this Donkey Kong cabinet at Cidercade Austin is in remarkably good shape for its age! About 75-80k of these were made for the US market. #retrogaming
