I came to the Blue Sky because Facebook trotted out their new TOS. What I left behind is a group dedicated to my favorite fandom -- A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. I left word with the members of my group that they could find me here.
One thing I learned by associating with John is that, if someone can’t work out a problem with you, then you both have a bigger problem than the original one. There will ALWAYS be problems, and if you can’t work them out with someone, that person isn’t safe for you to be around.

Trigger warning: Complaining about USA Incorporated

They keep taking away the rewards and making people work harder to avoid punishment.

I believe that nature didn’t adequately equip parents and their teenagers to get along with one another, that families have to work hard to maintain harmony, and that most families miss the mark.

Many animals love dolls. But they don’t make dolls. Humans make them and give them to the animals who love them. Somehow evolution equipped some creatures to love dolls they can’t construct.

Whoever is bound for eternity had best go with God, for yet another reason: Nothing our mortal minds have access to, can sustain happiness forever. Relive your favorite day with your long lost pet and I submit it would get stale within 1000 years — at least to our mortal minds.

“Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.” — John Lennon

I should put it on my wall.

It’s hard to declare a mismatch between words and deeds, because you can’t always decipher enough of what the actions mean.

Job interview starts in a few minutes. I don’t know enough about the job to know what kind of outcome to hope for. It could be legit; it could be MLM. It could be something I can do. Or it could be some kind of sales gig in disguise. It doesn’t bode well that they’re interviewing at least 60 ppl

God be thanked. I felt such gratitude today. It’s not my usual thing. I was thinking — feeling — that God in his Love had blessed me.

OK so Trump is toast. Is that really what it took, though? It reflects poorly on the electorate that it gives a green light to dictatorship and all its abuses, and only calls foul when there’s credible evidence that human trafficking was going down.

Watching superheroes is good for people. I just watched Captain Kirk for a couple of hours and now I feel pretty good.

Interesting enough to risk sounding foolish: I seem to have mirrored the character the way Dickens says we do. Just now I looked young like Shatner was when he made TOS.

I started imagining that the 2025 version of John was a good man. Maybe he really did go to the honor farm. Maybe he did well.

It looks like there’s very little on the Bluesky channel besides doom politics. I still stick around so I can complain about my life.

Wait. They JUST figured this out??? I thought this was the common conception of living systems and all iterative equations! Didn’t you think so too? And here they present it as news. www.sciencedaily.com/releases/202...
Scientists uncover a hidden universal law limiting life’s growth
Japanese researchers uncovered a universal rule describing why life’s growth slows despite abundant nutrients. Their “global constraint principle” integrates classic biological laws to show that multi...

I pointed out to a mutual friend how I couldn’t rely on anything John said. The friend agreed that John’s word was untrustworthy and said, “so why bother to talk to him?” In retrospect my answer should have been, “because he occasions outrage that cries out to be resolved.”

Wouldn’t it be great if, before we started relationships, we got the skinny on our intended’s communication skills, particularly facing initiating a breakup? I knew a guy who had his ex girlfriends approach the women he wanted to be with, as kind of an instant reference…

@russburlingame.com For decades, the worst movie I had ever seen was the old Red Sonja show with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

I finally watched something worse — Rock n’ Roll High School. What a cheap snore fest. I used the sunk cost fallacy to watch most of it, fast forwarding through some junk.

@russburlingame.com Naturally I’ve been thinking about numerology with regard to the Superman Robots in the recent movie. See, first 4 introduces 12, who is new. 12 signals completeness. Assuming 4 built 12, it’s like saying he’s done. But after the attack 4 introduces 22 (my #). AI on numbers:
