Let me tell you what I’ve seen of the Somali community in Maine.
My Somali neighbors are people with deep faith, families they cherish & determination to secure a better future for their children and grandchildren, much like every immigrant who came before them.

Somalis are not 'garbage,' President Trump | Column
President Trump doesn't know what he's talking about. This makes yesterday's comments all the more repugnant.

Don’t listen to the haters of BlueSky who love to be too cool for everything - “The American Revolution” is another triumph from Ken Burns that deserves our time - and @npr.org funding.

watching my Obamacare premiums go from $422/month to $1455/month on the Senate floor right now.

Speechless that this is what it was all for. A promise of a future vote that will fail.

Thisclose to turning around on 38 years of fandom and rooting for Tampa every time I see Portnoy in the box next to Kraft yucking it up.

Two execrable, gross human beings.

There's been a lot of crowing that the House has "done its job" by passing a bill, but the job is actually making law, not passing one-chamber bills. The word Congress means "come together" in Latin. Congress is failing to Congress.

So anybody hear any Maine politics news today?

For sure, one thing our dysfunctional Congress doesn't need is @MainePaulLePage.

The last thing Congress needs is Paul LePage | Steve Collins
If we're in the market for thoughtful, courageous leadership next year — and there's no doubt we are — we've got to look elsewhere.

That ending to House of Dynamite. Woof. Do not endorse!

Seems bad. I’d feel bad if I voted for this or was a member of the party that (all but one since excommunicated member) unanimously voted for this in Congress.
Window shopping for 2026 ACA marketplace plans is open for almost all states, and open enrollment is only days away. Millions of marketplace enrollees are seeing 2026 premiums spike due to expiring premium tax credits. See our paper with state-level estimates: tinyurl.com/zndd97k7

I’ve watched every Celtics game for years now - but I’m just going to opt out of tonight’s Amazon Prime game.

Liverpool is bad enough, but I’m never watching my favorite team on streaming. No thanks. Opt-out.

Can’t believe I have to say this but *countries* don’t import beef. Individuals and businesses do. In a free country, there is no way to mandate the quadrupling of a particular foodstuff import.
lol, great, so we're now subsidizing Argentine ranchers at the expense of American ranchers. Seems politically sustainable, no questions from me.

This is what the OBBB is doing right now to tens of thousands of Mainers all over the state, and it’s only going to get to get worse.
Huge premium spikes in Maine, where 2026 ACA marketplace window shopping is now underway. Because of expiring tax credit enhancements, a typical 60-year-old couple making $85,000 in Maine is looking at a $28,900 increase in annual premiums. (1/4)

Good luck painting tens of thousands of flag-waving Bostonians in the city where American democracy first sparked as anti-American!
😍 Boston, you are beautiful. #NoKings

Obviously, one of my favorite Celtics memes of all time. But this also succinctly sums up how essential Big Al has been to the last decade of success for Boston.

I’m going to miss him so much.

Fail to be a team player and get sent packing.

Just hope this doesn’t mean Boston took less than full value for a talented young (hitter only).

NYT found the “big beautiful bill” would be the largest transfer from the poor to the rich in a single law since at least 1990.

In fact, it would be the largest transfer *ever.*

Reagan’s low-income cuts were MUCH smaller - and his tax cuts were done separately. And before him, nothing comes close.

So happy to see that ABC is going with “can only faintly hear the announcers over cranked up crowd noise” ambiance for the Finals too.
