Never understood parents who think their kids will or should follow their taste in music. Its weird, like kids dont exist in a bubble: school, mates, tik tok. Guaranteed 2+yrs this kid will not:
My 10 year old son has no clue about modern mainstream music. He has been raised on a diet of strange. Loves a bit of Gary Numan, Drug Church and Aphex Twin. I like to pretend I'm doing him a favour, but I'm not completely sure.

I’ve really enjoyed all of these podcasts from Miranda Sawyer, recommended. This one will be good. Ted’s funny and insightful. Also plug that a subscription to The New Cue is recommended, a shortcut for old people like me and possibly you to keep across new releases.
Oasis live return to the stage made grown men cry their heart out.

@msmirandasawyer.bsky.social speaks with @tedkessler.bsky.social about this supersonic phenomenon and what those Oasis live shows truly meant to their fans.

Would you be getting tickets to Live ’26? 👀

Mate and I used to do club in Greenock early 90s. Did it again last night, in Town Hall as one of his former students does ents bookings there. Was a lot of fun.

The Smiths is a band.
CBGB Festival is happening under the K Bridge in Brooklyn today with OG punks Iggy Pop, the Damned, and Marky Ramone alongside torchbearers like the Linda Lindas and Scowl (on the Ed Hardy Young Punks Stage).

Here’s Johnny!

I'm glad Sadiq is the Mayor of my city.
There's a reason he keeps winning elections.
We must unite against those who seek to divide us.

Difficult decision for Beaton that. Not the decision, the giving of it.

Just taken delivery of this reproduction poster from @monorailmusic.bsky.social . Used it as entree to explain in detail to kid the Factory records approach to providing catalogue numbers to things as well as records. Started with 'what is a catalogue number?'. Properly bored her shitless. Skills.

Signed this so that Cornwall gets a national football team that Scotland gets to batter on regular basis + Mrs can no longer be selectively English when same happens to us. Free Kernow 👍🫡
Myttin da / Good morning Blue Sky 🙂

A recent Cornwall Council meeting, a motion was passed for Kernow (Cornwall) to be recognised as a nation with equal status to Wales and Scotland.

That's really unlike the Celtic Board to be tone deaf, patronizing and self-aggrandising. I, for one, am shocked.

Day Two of Reform conference, and we're getting the good stuff. At the Heartland Institute's fringe "Is Climate Realism Inevitable", we've learned that electric cars are part of a Marxist plot to control humanity, and heard calls for the abolition of the BBC.

Good this. Nice to see menion of Sonora at 13th Note on Sundays. Was great night, mostly chillout, but also some quite confrontational stuff, the Panasonic night being a real assault. And a lovely picture of young Chantal. Album looks great.
Aphex Twin, a Brixton squat and a load of wet mattresses: revisiting Telepathic Fish, the heart of the 90s chillout boom
Before it became naff music for health spas, chillout was cool – and this London club night was key. As a new generation carry its spirit forward, the originators remember the beats and bedding
