It seems Kieran Andrieu , a Novara Media journalist, has been illegally kidnapped by Israeli forces, along with the rest of those on his ship, the Adara. His "if you're watching this" video has been posted.
Kieran's vessel, the Adara, is smaller and is ahead of Alma but there are an unknown number of Israeli vessels around them. Green lights in the dark. He theorised that they will be intercepted one by one and processed. IDF calling it a "soft interception"?

Canada's parliament started the week giving a standing O for free speech and the memory of Charlie Kirk.
They ended it by joining Orban's Hungary and Trump's America in targeting @kneecapceol.bsky.social an Irish hip hop group for challenging the genocide.
Not our finest hour.

“it’d be a lot easier to be completely on board with it if I saw it as a temporary measure to address an exceptional risk, but I keep thinking: what about next summer? And the summer after that? Will hiking in the woods in the summer be banned forever?”

How the Washmill underpass created the fire risk at Susies Lake - Halifax Examiner
I find this story, this history, compelling because it is a clear example of how the process of suburbanization obscures its true and total costs.

Francesca Albanese has shown true courage and conviction in the face of a genocide that world leaders have failed to take concrete action to stop. Albanese should be the recipient of the Nobel Peace prize.

IMO this actually bleeds into transit advocacy more often than it should.

Transit as anti-poverty tool instead of transit as transportation.
Suzanne also touched on another thing that stood out to me as an important topic from Councillor Janet Steele, about how we need to fight classism and end any stigma associated with riding the bus in Halifax, especially starting with youth.

Hartling says there are no bike lanes in her District 13 but she wants to work on a fact based system. “I see no facts” in the motion.
