Imagine if they just put this money towards stopping hunger.... Or just paid their share of taxes on what is clearly income they don't need to survive.

I hope that ALL of the criminal attorneys, bar associations, and judges in these states let their representatives know that they are not above the law. Setting this type of precedence makes the two tier justice system crystal clear.

Senators work FOR the people and MUST follow the same laws.
Take a moment to listen

AOC on the House floor tonight

@hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social how about proposing an amendment to the CR that states all senators, congresswomen/congressmen, the vp, and the president must stay in DC if there is a shutdown? I would like to know that elected officials are working towards a resolution and not raising $$.

This is the way.
Soft secession

Legislation creates a Federal Tax Escrow Account in the state treasury. Instead of employers forwarding collected federal taxes to Washington, they send them to the state. The state holds the money in escrow. A legislative panel reviews federal spending for constitutional compliance.
Experts Say Blue States Can Stop Paying Federal Taxes. There’s Precedent
If we could use nullification for people to get high, why can’t we use it to protect human rights and stop fascism?

The first and last lines of Joni Ernst’s legacy as a human on earth will be that she was instrumental in the confirmation of the Sec of Defense most hostile to women serving in military, and she knew that when she voted for him.

This Veterans Day, I’m thinking of the millions of Americans who have served in uniform — and how our government is failing them right now.

Words aren’t enough, we need actions. Fund the VA. Fund mental healthcare. And end endless wars.

You say "our victory" and that is where I have an issue. If we win next November it will not include those that caved. No infighting, they are no longer aligned with what the PEOPLE want.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

Listen Kaine, Hassan, King, Cortez-Masto, Durbin, Shaheen, Rosen, and Fetterman. You're NOT gonna take away my 2025 election joy. We voted in that election for folks to FIGHT for us. That doesn't include YOU.

YOU are what we voted AGAINST last Tuesday. So I'm gonna hang on to that.

If this passes, it is another dispicable display of different justice for different people.

Absolutely disgusting.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

The people held the line. Your job is to serve the people!
🚨 Families went hungry while Congress played games. Now they want to cut a deal.

The people held the line. Now it’s their turn.

Call Schumer. Call your Senators.
Tell them to hold the line. No deal that sells us out.

Hey, @schumer.senate.gov!

Americans gave you a clear assignment last Tuesday, and you didn’t understand it.

Now, we are giving you another one: Step down and allow a Democrat with a spine to unite your caucus for the good of all Americans.

Remember what you told Biden? Now, tell it to yourself.

Great job, @schumer.senate.gov. You've changed the story from "GOP hurting millions of Americans to please unpopular, failing, delusional despot who's destroying his party" to "Dems are too weak and divided in the face of Trump's strength to take a stand and protect Americans"

The American people strongly disagree. Please resign.
Angus King: "This initial strategy didn't work. And now we have one. We're gonna have a guaranteed vote on the ACA, and it may not succeed. I grant that. But a reasonable chance -- 10, 20, 30% -- is a lot better than 0% which is where we were."
