I know several amazing science postdocs at Uni's in the UK, who are now at breaking point, falling out of love with science, and thinking of leaving academia 💔 all because of the current lack of support, increased workload and stress of their jobs.

"There is now a feeling international scientists are unwelcome in the UK."

Impact of visa restrictions on scientists (amongst others) coming to the UK. The cost is crazy high, no wonder amazing scientists are starting to not want to come here to work.
Following evidence to the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee, BBC Politics East recently spoke to Dr Carolina Grandellis, Head of Earlham #Biofoundry and @talbotlabtsl.bsky.social about the impact of visa restrictions and costs on the UK’s ability to fill skills gaps with global talent.

Helping to look after 2 t-level students over the next month, and I just think it's so cool they get to have lab experience at a research institute as part of their course!
