First images of the greatest cosmic movie ever made will be released by the Vera C. Rubin Observatory on Monday, and one of the “directors” is @uwmadphysics.bsky.social
Prof. Keith Bechtol. Join the watch party to learn more about the observatory and UW–Madison’s involvement!
UW–Madison physicists play key role in international observatory
Physics professor Keith Bechtol and his research group have been key players in bringing the Vera C. Rubin Observatory in Chile to the main stage. Now its state-of-the-art telescope has started taking

That time I (I mean someone…definitely don’t know who) made Physics Bucky and he just happened to double as Pride Bucky 🏳️‍🌈

An email about a 16.9% raise that almost looks official?!! Nice try, spammer, I know my #UWMadison branding so well that I know that's an old logo, so I'm not falling for it.

Trying some different ways to share research stories, starring my fabulous intern! (who is both a great intern and way less awkward than I am)
In the search for the elusive sterile neutrino, UW–Madison and NOvA scientists *still* didn't find any — but their work puts the tightest constraints on parameter space to date for where sterile neutrinos could be found. #Physics #Neutrinos

Found my first actual time-saving use of Co-Pilot/any AI at work today. My interview transcripts are usually a mess — Kaltura is now adding an extra space between all words and I can’t fix it atp; YouTube never puts any punctuation in. I asked copilot to fix them, and it did!

@laurawilliams.bsky.social is your pic from the microbe museum in Amsterdam? Because I had like 48 hours there two years ago and you know that was the top of my list!

Well, I didn't work in the subheaders (I just wasn't creative enough). BUT, the WHAM/Wham! story is out today!

No, we don't have fusion energy yet, but this new magnet technology (17T!) and new device are definitely a step in the right direction.

When writing a feature story about a device called WHAM, how far is too far of a stretch to make subheaders all titles from Wham songs?

I ❤️Adobe Express. Why did it take me this long to find it? I will be editing 99% of work social media videos in it from here on out. Give me your tips and tricks! (I’ll try to share some as I learn them)

It feels appropriate that my first post represents so much of who I am now: a SciCommer — in physics, of all disciplines! — who has come a long way from telling text-only stories. My team put together this video, and I'm super proud of it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=CD5G...
