Well. In a move that will probably not surprise people who know me in real life, I have received a formal #autism diagnosis. Honestly, I am pleased about it, as I hope it will allow me to be a bit kinder to myself.

So Nicholas Rossi has been found guilty. Good. I hope he never comes out. Hilariously preposterous as his attempt at a false identity was, I was never comfortable with how it came to mask the terrible, terrible things he'd done.

The thing that I love about our current era is getting to experience the existential dread of the Cold War combined with the ideological, sociological and economic turmoil of the inter-World War period.

I've just had to write a very difficult email to turn down a fantastic opportunity to visit the US to give a talk. I'm very sad that I just wouldn't feel safe visiting at the moment given how transgender people are being targeted.

I was due to attend 3 separate scientific conferences in the US this year, including giving an oral presentation at one. I have now cancelled plans for all 3, including withdrawing my accepted abstract.
We have to live by our principles. Mine mean that I cannot, in good conscience, travel to the US
