1 year later. Took PCH to LAX yesterday and while I’ve driven this route many times since it reopened, it’s sobering every time.

Traffic stopped so I had time to notice the fresh green fronds growing atop its charred trunk. This is hope.

First morning walk of the new year. Visited my spirit tree, this grand mother of an oak, because I needed to give her hug and feel her strength flow back into me.

This is the view from her center.

If you’re not familiar with SoCal seasons, it’s still fall here… until about mid-Jan when winter hits. Then spring starts mid-Feb, lasts through June. Summer is July to Oct. In Nov fall comes around again.

And hard to see, but some wild parakeets are in the tree tops.
