They are still heavily in #Cary as of today, 11/19. Spotted them off High House and Maynard heading toward the detention center they have off of Evans Rd. Please be vigilant and call it in to Siembra NC! I did.
ICE was heavily in Cary NC today. Cary NC! Cary makes safest places to live lists all the time. The idea that they're here because of crime is ludicrous. I mean we all know that, but still. Thanks ICE for terrorizing yet another community.

I might write up my complete thoughts but for now, as parent of a Special Ed student in WCPSS this statement represents so much that is wrong in our systems. From blame instead of building bridges with families, Wake isn’t helping their cause. www.newsobserver.com/news/local/e...
Read WCPSS’ statement on how it reaches special-education school settlements
Wake says it’s attracting families with significant and complex disabilities who are filing special-education complaints.

Under Leandro, the state is obligated to study subsidy rates and fund a system that is aligned with actual costs and eliminates the waitlist. NCGA leaders have shirked that constitutional obligation. It's unclear why journalists fail to consider this relevant context.

Yes, "the court’s Republican justices put the money transfer on hold," but it didn't put on hold the NCGA's ongoing obligation to fund future years of the Leandro Plan.

Why won't anyone mention that state leaders are violating an open court order!?!??!?!?!

600 days later, still no NC Supreme Court ruling on Leandro school funding case. It's been 20 months since the court heard oral arguments. Case has been on hold since the court blocked enforcement of 2022 decision to transfer funds to schools. www.newsobserver.com/news/politic... #nced #ncpol

The GOP once supported special education programs. Recent dismissals at the Education Department put an end to that support.

The biggest consequence is that 1.5 million public school students continue to have their constitutional rights violated because lawmakers are failing to adhere to the court order calling on them to fully fund the Leandro Plan.

It's unclear why @dawnbvaughan.bsky.social forgot this.

New from me this morning, an explainer on why North Carolina doesn't shut down like the federal government does without a budget deal -- but there are still consequences of lawmakers not getting their job done.

Folks need to understand that unscientific cures and phony treatments aren't new to those of us in the community.

We're just not as used to this extreme form of quackery coming directly from the federal level. At the same time, we're seeing the rollback of programs and benefits.
