It sounds conspiratorial to suggest that Vladimir Putin told Donald Trump behind closed doors to launch an assault on mail-in voting in elections administered by the states, and Trump immediately set about mobilizing federal power to do it… but that is literally Trump’s account of what happened.

Every American needs to remember that Russia is only able to invade and terrorize Ukraine because, in 1994, the US and UK convinced them to give up their nuclear weapons.

They voiced specific concerns about a Russian invasion.

We promised to protect them.

Trump wants to break our promise.
