Exciting to see this story out — showing that children with MIS-C have high levels of TGFβ, which weakens T cells and reactivates EBV. Blocking TGFβ reversed this effect, making this a potential treatment option!

Multisystem inflammatory syndrome following SARS-CoV-2 infection results from increased serum levels of TGFβ, which impairs the reactivation of virus-specific T cells.
