Exciting to see this story out — showing that children with MIS-C have high levels of TGFβ, which weakens T cells and reactivates EBV. Blocking TGFβ reversed this effect, making this a potential treatment option!

Katherine is a renowned expert on accessibility and inclusivity, and we had great time discussing ways to make our lab and the broader scientific community more inclusive!

Lucas @lucasarendholz.bsky.social is presenting his project on post-COVID syndrome (long COVID) at the 8th German Mass Cytometry User Forum in Jena, Germany! 🙌

We're exploring how EBV-driven T- and B-cell communication disruptions impact patients across all age groups. Our aim is to uncover disease mechanisms, identify biomarkers for early diagnosis, and develop targeted therapies. 💡

We're thrilled that the CURE-ME project received funding from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research!

Together with experts from Charité and @tumuenchen.bsky.social, we are investigating the role of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) in triggering autoreactivity and post-infectious #MECFS.
