For a while, Karlach was the closest thing to a best friend Tavara had. But once they learned of Tavara's past relations with Gortash, she finally kept her own distance. The closest she had in the group was Jaheria and Minsc. The animals ended up being her "best friends" until the adventure ended

Tavara got along quite well with all the canon companions at first. Once the truth is revealed that she's a Bhaalspawn, they all keep their distance. Except for Karlach. She's the only one to give her an actual chance until Jaheria and eventually Minsc+Boo join
