Unsurprisingly, most news media seem to misunderstand the nuanced complexity of people considered the working poor, often implying that we would all feel comfortable at a Trump rally. 2/

Just saw a rather anachronistic meme sarcastically saying fauci spent his whole career studying vaccines just to trick "rednecks," and I cannot emphasize enough how the classism and anti-ruralism of that kind of statement are a big factor in how we got here.
