Open-source lets us see how predictive systems encode biased, categorical logics. While better than closed systems, open-source alone does not address the issues with the logics themselves #predictivepolicing #criticalai

Replicative AI is a more apt description of “generative AI.” The language matters.
What if we used the term Replicative AI instead of Generative AI?
The most frequent question I received after my talk yesterday was about the word "ectype," which I used to describe the output of Suno and Udio. Ectype (as opposed to archetype) means "copy but not copy" and can be new and unique but not original.
