I can tell my 4-year-old to his face that Sinterklaas (Dutch version of Santa Claus) does not exist and how it works. Does not matter, he wants to believe. I guess we still suffer from this want to believe in something as adults and information does not matter...

I love when scientists describe complex processes in relatable ways. @sannec.bsky.social: “The general idea is that mantle blobs are likely pushed around by subducted slabs. The two main blobs are surrounded by ‘graveyards’ of subducted slabs.”

I love when scientists describe complex processes in relatable ways. @sannec.bsky.social: “The general idea is that mantle blobs are likely pushed around by subducted slabs. The two main blobs are surrounded by ‘graveyards’ of subducted slabs.”
