This is really interesting! I find that people usually don’t think of fruit as contributing to protein intake. This is a good reminder that even when meals are quick or simple, choosing nutrient dense foods like these can still help support overall nutrition. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

I had a matcha latte, sweet potato fries, Greek salad, chicken, and a small spoonful of ice cream before bed (bad). It was easy to remember what I ate, but harder to estimate details like calories, especially since some meals came from the dining hall where portions vary. #BEH353 @beh353.bsky.social

Fiber is an underrated nutrient! I learned that it lowers cholesterol and overall reduces risk of chronic diseases. This is why plant-based diets are considered the healthiest, even with limited animal-based nutrients, as their high fiber intake provides major benefits. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

When we think about nutrition, we usually focus on food and ingredients, but often overlook the safety of what we cook our food in. This is a great reminder that cookware materials and potential contaminants, also play a major role in overall health and food safety! #BEH353 @beh353.bsky.social

The importance of the type of evidence used in nutrition information really stood out. I was surprised that lab and animal studies are considered weaker evidence forms. Going forward, I’ll prioritize sources of higher quality, especially meta-analysis systematic reviews. #BEH353 @beh353.bsky.social
