I've talked about the witchcraft, paganism, and occult books I recommend lots of times, but today let's look at the books I actually, physically own, why I have them, and whether I recommend them for others. (thread)

[Repost from Instagram] I find these seasonal rituals very grounding, especially when life feels chaotic.

Hello Bluesky, I've been sick for like a week and a half, but I'm back. Have a photo of my cat "helping" with a sewing project.

Like a lot of folks, I'm freaking the fuck out right now. And while no book is going to fix that, I'm revisiting this favorite to brush up on tools to help me take care of myself while the world feels like it's on fire.

The longer I've been pagan, the more I find meaning in small, simple rituals. The first and last tortilla of the batch go to Vesta. Just because.

Queer witches have always been here, and we're not going anywhere.

Obligatory reminder that recommending books on cultural and place-based spiritual practices does not mean I think people from other cultures/places should start practicing within those systems. Educating yourself good, cultural appropriation bad, etc. etc. #witchsky #pagansky #occultsky

I'm still very new to Roman polytheism and definitely still learning (which is why I don't post about it very often) but right now I'm really resonating with Vesta as the goddess of "someone still has to do the dishes." #pagansky #vesta #romanpagan

Fun fact! When I'm not talking about paganism I make video essays about the cycle of abuse in fifteen year old video games: youtu.be/6_TyT7-f0uM?... #nancydrew #nancydrewgames #videoessay

Last night I did something I thought I'd never do. I did a spell with the TV on. The spell needed to get done this week and my ADHD just was not letting me sit down to do it. Having a movie on gave me enough background noise to do the damn thing. Making accommodations in our craft is okay. #witchsky

I think Hephaestus and other disabled Gods are so important because their existence discredits ableist conceptions of "perfection." Hephaestus reminds us that wholeness, perfection, divinity, and disability are *not* mutually exclusive.

I actually think it's really important for white witches and pagans to learn about black and brown spiritual practices, not in a "I'm going to learn hoodoo!" kind of way but in a "these conversations are how we kill harmful stereotypes and learn how to be a good ally" kind of way.

People who don't like cats: they're just not friendly like dogs. they're standoffish and cold and just aren't affectionate animals.

Meanwhile my cat 90% of the time:
