Proud to have contributed to this paper in @thelancetph.bsky.social , which reports that of 16 European countries, England had the largest decline in life expectancy improvement (a fall in average annual improvement from 0.25 from 1990-2011 to 0.07 from 2011-2019

Our new paper (OPEN ACCESS) critiques the important, emotive, + relevant issue of long-term segregation + seclusion for people w/ intellectual disability + autistic people. Ideologically understandable need for elimination but evidence/practice needs resolving first.

Adults with learning disability at increased risk of mental & physical health conditions & have reduced life expectancy. We used the GP Patient Survey to show they have less confidence in their healthcare and were less likely to feel their needs were met. Led by Sam Tromans bjgp.org/content/earl...
