IU grad living in Chicago. Yes, I also root for Purdue. Race fan. Used to work in radio, now enjoying life as a stay-at-home cat dad.
It’s fun to see your infant look like different people. I’ve seen myself, my mom, my grandpa, my wife, and my brother-in-law at different times. But today? Today she looks like Paul Sorvino.

Baby Rumpza was born Saturday night! Mom and baby are both doing great. Sarah went into labor at Wrigley Field Friday. We were there for Sarah’s work outing, and had to make made a quick exit in the first inning. Still hoping she’s a White Sox fan, but we’re off to a rough start.

I really do appreciate that family and friends are concerned/curious/excited, but I’ve reached the point where when I’m asked about labor/induction/due dates I’m saying “Oh shit, she was born yesterday and we forgot to tell you!”

Kyle Schwarber just hit the ball harder than anyone I’ve seen since… Kyle Schwarber in college

I don’t think this Jeopardy contestant can dunk

Curious where this Pacers team ranks for people’s most enjoyable seasons/playoff runs.

For me, it goes:
1. 2024 IU football
2. 24-25 Pacers
3. 2005 White Sox
4 23-24 Purdue basketball

Even if the Pacers win Sunday night, I’m not sure it can surpass the surprising joy that IU football brought

Let’s have a day, Indianapolis

Shoutout to IMS/IndyCar president Doug Boles for taking time out of his VERY busy schedule to give a word of encouragement to the IMS Radio Network crew earlier today

Yesterday was the craziest day in Indy sports history and there's not a close second.
-Team Penske fires senior leadership four days before the 500
-RIP Jim Irsay
-Insane Pacers comeback

Just about to pack the car and head south. Can't wait to see what this weekend holds.

IMS and The Fieldhouse, I will see you May 25th.

Sadly did not see the pope, but I did see Tim Elko’s first hit/homer

No matter how bad the team is, being able to hop on a train and go to a White Sox game is still so cool. Used to be a once-a-year production, now it’s a random Sunday when I’m bored.

Good news here. The length of end of games absolutely had to be addressed.

Good news on rules changes for next season:
- Out of bounds calls will only be triggered by coach's challenge
- Points of emphasis related to reigning in bloated game length
- Continuation for shooters that were fouled
- Quarters coming in approximately 2035?

My hatred of the Cubs has dwindled over the years. Hell, I went to their game yesterday and cheered for them. But those north side clowns trying to claim the pope when he's a Sox fan has reignited my passion.

Caring about the pope unless you're a devout Catholic reminds me of Americans who are really into British royalty, but I gotta say, it's pretty cool that the first American pope is from the South Side of Chicago.

Did some family tree research today, and learned my great-great-great-grandfather served in the Civil War for the Union, and that his infantry regiment (175th Ohio) fought in the Battle of Nashville. Hating Tennessee is in my blood.

Cool to chat with Jon Garland at tonight’s White Sox game. A huge part of the 2005 team. He threw one of the four complete games in the ALCS. They just don’t make starting pitchers like they used to.

Just got cooked by an old lady behind me in line at the grocery store.

“Must have kids at home!”
“No, why?”
“Oh, I just saw that.”

Biggest accomplishment of 2025 (so far). I read The Power Broker! And did you really read it if you don’t tell people you read it?

A lot of things are terribly depressing right now, but we're grilling for the first time this year, so that's nice.

As bummed as I am about the Brooks Barnhizer rumors falling flat (he would've been a *perfect* fit on the roster and I'd have loved to see a Broncho play for Purdue), it's entertaining to see IU fans making fun of Purdue fans about having unrealistic hopes/expectations about an acquisition for once.

Not the former IU assistant I would've guessed would be on DeVries' staff, but I love it.
