WHY are we still holding the #HugoAwards on some pedestal when we KNOW they censored Xiran Jay Zhao from the Lodestar list because the execs wanted to go to China?? or the fact that they nominate BIPOC but rarely win?? and then treated Kamilah Cole this way??

Hey, I have had a largely great experience at Worldcon, but the #Hugos owe @wordsiren.bsky.social an apology for forgetting to include her in the announced Lodestar nominees during the award ceremony. Kamilah deserved celebration, not this blatant disrespect.

I've shared this before, but it bears repeating: I am a community college dropout who didn't sell his first novel or screenplay until I was 35.
Today I got my first Emmy nomination at the age of 49.
We're all on our own path with our own timeline. There is no expiration date for writers but death.

I'm picky about rereading books tbh. I usually only do years after I've read them the first time. Not that there's anything wrong with rereading books, I'd rather just read something new vs something I've already experienced.

I do not feel that I truly love a book UNLESS I plan to reread it. Love (or 5-star rating), for me, means "this is so good that I will want to read it more times in future."

Notion adding AI and making everything else on their app impossible to edit is par for the course. I really liked using it and now making new pages feels like a chore 🙄 Anyone have any similar apps they can recommend?
