Do not be surprised if in the first days of an incoming populist radical government there is an entire raft of statutory instruments and other measures prepared and ready to go, exploiting every gap in our constitutional arrangements.
And worryingly, as you highlight, it would be extremely naive for us to assume the well funded right wing “think tanks” haven’t already worked out exactly how to dismantle what protections remain at blitzkrieg speed, should they gain power.

URGENT: ICE goons just swept the Central neighborhood of Minneapolis (1/13/26). While seizing a young person who appeared to be a teenager, goons also abducted multiple legal observers and bystanders. Situation is volatile.

The 1951 Greenland Defense Agreement allows the US to keep military bases in Greenland, and to establish new bases or "defense areas" if deemed necessary by NATO. The US has the Pituffik Space Base (in NW Greenland) and the option to build more.
The Greenland fixation feels like a personal insult to anyone who's spent more than about five minutes thinking about national security. "Hey, let's demolish our most valuable alliance so we can get get access to arctic territory we already have access to!"

The doctor who was prevented from administering aid was indeed a medical doctor. He doesn't wish to speak to the media but I know his identity and can confirm the person who tried to help Renee Good and was prevented to by ICE is indeed an internal medicine doctor in Minnesota.
