A comparison of the original cover and tropes of The Anatomy of Forever by T.B. Markinson and Miranda MacLeod alongside an AI rip-off of their book. Help us Fight this AI Scam! By now, hopefully you've had a chance to check out Jae's informative blog post about the latest scam hitting the sapphic book world. In a nutshell, scammers are taking the blurbs and covers of popular sapphic books, feeding them into AI by the hundreds, and publishing their results under dozens of pen names. This book by TB and me is just one example. A single book may not cause too much damage, but the flood of books we could soon see will harm our community and authors in a time where we're already facing so many challenges. Help us fight back! Please leave a 1 star review on this book that states: This is an AI rip-off of The Anatomy of Forever by TB Markinson & Miranda MacLeod. That’s all. You don’t have to write anything else. Sadly, since the scammers have AI write the book, changing key details, this doesn’t technically count as plagiarism and Amazon has been dragging its feet to respond. What we need to fight these thieves is a concerted effort from the community that they can't ignore. Look: If you're using AI to 'create' anything, you're not a creator. You're clicking a button and becoming an audience to millions of creators' stolen work being vomited out of a blender, then showing the vomit to everyone else. Even if you fix the 'quality' issue, you'll never be an artist.
