Fair warning to all U.S. citizens: Do not I repeat DO NOT waste ICE's time by pretending you don't speak English, "accidentally" leaving your documentation at home or running away during a raid. That's totally not okay.

Hold off on USAID obituaries and suggesting staff have gone.
Most actions so far are under legal challenge, only Congress can get rid of USAID (and its funding), the staff are on administrative leave.
What has happened is terrible, but it is time to push back, not give in.

There appear to be at least three separately operating heel factions breaking things within the government in wholly different ways right now. There's the Miller-headed immigration one, the DOGE/Elon one, and a Project 2025 OMB one. This dynamic hasn't showed up in mainstream reporting at all.

I know that all these institutions know how to push back because when Obama directed them to enforce pre-existing Title IX law, universities said no.
They flat out refused until there was a working group and specific guidelines. And even then, they *still* refused.

Washington is full of rule-following valedictorians who were inspired by the West Wing and did Model UN and moot court and studied their heroes and who believe in using government to help people.
