Happy Solstice!
Georgeson Botanical Gardens in Fairbanks has done such a nice job of the holiday lights this year!
Th-Fr-Sat nights 5-9 pm until Jan 18
Colorful lights outline the rails, posts, and roof of a wooden boardwalk covered in snow and a gazebo. Dark trees draped in white snow are a background. Teal lights in a star with long, arched tail are attached to a chain link fence next to a footpath. This fence keeps the crabapple trees safe from moose. More colorful lights illuminate trees in the distance. The path is shoveled and snow rises more than foot on each side Standing inside a gazebo looking out onto a cold snowy night. The gazebo posts are wrapped in multi color lights, and so is a tree in the middle distance. UAF campus buildings and lights in the background. Ceramic tiles depicting birds are above the railing of the gazebo .

Ravenstail weaving, yéil koowú, finished! This is my fifth project and the first I have made double sided. As always, some errors, but increasing progress and practice.
The front side of a small woven medicine bag draped over a teal couch. The medicine bag is woven from mostly ivory wool, with long heavy fringe on both sides and the bottom. The bottom fringe is made from warp and has tin cones on the ends. The top is edged with fur. Concentric boxes are woven in black on the front and braids / front hang down from each box. In the center is a treasure — alternating black and yellow. The back side of a small medicine bag draped over a teal couch. The bag is dominantly ivory wool with heavy fringe on sides and the bottom. Bottom fringe warp strands have tin cones on the ends. The top is edged with fur. A black square is outlined on the bag, waiting for the recipient to add their own pin in the center.

Progress! Yéil koowú, ravenstail. Comments and suggestions welcome from other weavers; I am remote learning.
Two offwhite weavings in progress hang from a single bar loom. The left weaving has fringed sides and a black box with three sides; the bottom is unfinished. The right weaving has less completed and has the top sides of two nested boxes started. Christmas tree with ornaments and lights in the background.

Beginnings, yéil koowú, ravenstail weaving.
A yardstick with holes drilled every inch is being used as a single-loom bar. Off-white warps hang down from two sections three inches each. The first four rows of weft are woven on each section, also in off-white. Laminate wood-like floor, a plant in a green plastic pot, and the back of a recliner are in the background. There is a bit of window behind the loom; the sun is setting through a winter poplar forest.
