Sadly, most of my Tomb Raider site's engagement still comes from The Bad Place. Link clicks, replies, and likes over here are a tiny fraction of what I get over there. And it's not for the lack of trying. 🤷♀️

Millions of followers ≠ engagement. @theguardian.com has 1.4m followers on Threads with almost no engagement. On Bluesky, links can get 3–4x more clicks than likes.

Japan Post announced that beginning this Wed, Aug 27, they will temporarily refuse all commercial packages destined to the United States. This falls in line with similar moves by the UK, Australia, etc. Only packages marked as "gift" with a value under $100 will be accepted.

So it's like Bluesky meets DeviantArt. I wonder can it make PORTFOLIOS too.
Either way, if it's going to complete with DeviantArt, the only thing it needs is not only social logins (those who DO NOT have bsky), but have a technology to PREVENT ANY AI TRAINING ON ART.
