Trump, RFK Jr., and the Republicans are making Americans unhealthy and unsafe.

Serious journalism by @politico.com here.

There’s something rotten in the GOP culture, and it is pervasive. I can’t even say that I’m shocked.

I hope that the HR, the higher-ed communities, and voters are taking notice, cause these behaviors are beyond dangerous.

To explain:

At the start of his opinion, Judge Young includes an anonymous note received by his chambers, which reads “Trump has pardons and tanks..what do you have?”

Responding to the note, Young says we have our “magnificent Constitution” and “here’s how that works out in a specific case —“
Omg. I’ve never seen anything like this in a judicial opinion:

Imagine if Richard Nixon had just tweeted out the Watergate scandal rather than putting it on secret tapes.

That’s what this is.

If you ask Ukrainians “after 3.5 years of war, don’t you wish you’d just given in at the start,” you’ll get a hard no.

Americans, of all people, should understand going “give me liberty or give me death” when a foreign dictator tells people to bow down.

Except the US govt now opposes those values.

For those who are just learning about Chris and his work, he helped free Alan Gross, an American aide worker, who was imprisoned by the Castro regime in Cuba.

Thank you, @vanhollen.senate.gov !
Mr. Abrego Garcia was illegally abducted by the Trump Admin and, by their own admission, wrongly deported to El Salvador. He shouldn’t have to spend another second away from his family.

I'm flying to El Salvador tomorrow morning to check on his condition and discuss his return.

We are now at the point where the AP can write this as if its a simple background fact and it sparks no outrage: "Trump has made no secret of his plans to use the power of the federal government to target domestic political adversaries."

These are not normal times.
Sen. Cory Booker (D-New Jersey) spoke through the night on the Senate floor, to protest President Trump, Elon Musk and the administration’s policies.

“These are not normal times in our nation,” he said. “And they should not be treated as such in the United States Senate.” wapo.st/3E5AiqV

President Trump ordered a freeze on Tuesday on trillions of dollars in federal money — from anti-poverty programs to foreign aid — in order to purge the government of what he called woke ideology. What happens next?
