Greatly depends on the characters and the scene but it's not uncommon for me to write a scene that spans 2+ chapters and switch POV's each chapter during a spicy scene.

Text reads: “The rain makes you ornery.” Xaph grumbled under his breath, crossing his arms over his chest as the permanent glare on his face became more pronounced. “No, magic rain makes me ornery. The magic mother-” Oak paused his ranting as hail began pelting down from the dark sky. Thunder rumbled in the distance at a near constant pace and as loudest crack rang out, the sky lit up several hundred yards to their left in an empty field as lightning hit the ground. “-fucking storm created to probably kill us makes me ornery, Red. Very ornery.”

Most of the time, I let my characters do what they want. But these two just had at least a 5k+ word sex scene.

Next chapter they woke up and had more sex.

Then were about to have sex AGAIN 5 minutes later.

I had to tell them to wait for just a bit 🤣

An excerpt from Summoned By The TwinkDemon by Sage L Mattison. The text reads: It was quiet. The hum of the air conditioner and the soft creaking of an old building settling around them. The building and city were louder than Xaph was used to, the Crimson Reaches not nearly as densely populated as Earth. But he was well practiced at tuning out unnecessary noise while relaxing. He needed rest after the night before of staying awake, angry at the summoning. Xaph wanted to have no issues being alert the next day as they traveled.

Xaph: Hard, crunchy, tough. Being around Oak is like dipping him into milk though, and he's super soft toward the man (even when he's making him hurt).

That's what he said they would talk about during dinner. Did creatures in the demon realm practice BDSM? Oak assumed they did, given how naturally dominant Xaph had been with him so far but maybe he was wrong. Maybe demons just acted that way but didn't know or practice actual kink.
