December’s theme: take a guess.

Just got my tickets for an IMAX 3D screening of Avatar: Fire and Ash.

Haters gonna hate, but I love these films. JamCam is the only guy that still gets me to see films in 3D.

Be honest. Have you ever experienced a tinier, more pathetically fragile ego than Donald Trump’s?

How could anyone with any self respect admire this smegma ball?

“These go to 11.”
“What the hell is Goofy?”
“As you wish.”
“I’ll have what she’s having.”
“I’m your number one fan.”
“You can’t handle the truth.”

He didn’t write any of these lines, but he sure made them iconic.

I feel like a big Reiner rewatch is just around the corner for me.

This one hurts.
When people talk about director runs, I’ll always go to Reiner:

This is Spinal Tap
The Sure Thing
Stand By Me
The Princess Bride
When Harry Met Sally…
Misery
A Few Good Men

He was up there with Billy Wilder for a straight decade.

Awful news to wake up to. Thank you for the films.
Rob Reiner directed some of the most beloved movies of all time, including Stand By Me, This is Spinal Tap, and The Princess Bride. His production company also made movies like The Shawshank Redemption, Before Sunrise and Michael Clayton. The film industry has lost one of its titans.

An unspoken element of Kill Bill: these beautiful blondes must have raging daddy issues to fall for this insufferable old man. They kill instead of going to therapy.

Anyway, this is a great way to watch these films.

A ★★★★½ review of Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair (2006)
A fascinating re-edit, most notable for what’s missing (the cliffhanger and subsequent prologue) and what’s been added back in (a colour House of Blue Leaves slaughter and a couple of moments of extra...

Something recent UK politics has shown. Anytime someone like Boris Johnson, Kwasi Kwarteng, Rishi Sunak, Liz Truss says, “Move on”, you’re dead-on the thing that they know will ruin them. You stay laser focussed on it until they are politically dead and buried.

Don’t move on. Bury them.

Donald Trump can call reporters whatever names he wants. They’re mostly unsubstantiated.

What’s provable is that he:

- is racist
- is a rapist
- is a bankrupt failure of a businessman
- is someone who wants to fuck his own daughter
- pervs on underage girls
- was best pals with a paedophile

Stop.

Platforming.

This.

Fucking.

Idiot.

You have all the evidence you will ever need that Liz Truss believes in nothing and is someone’s idea of a useful idiot. Send her to the scrap bin of history where she belongs. For fuck’s sake.
Liz Truss live from Lettuce TV,

In honour of the passing of Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, may everyone watch the trashterpiece that is Showdown in Little Tokyo and compliment Dolph Lundgren on the size of his member.

#NowWatching NOSFERATU (2024)

(Mildest of spoilers, if you haven’t seen the film)

Bill Skarsgård is genuinely INVISIBLE as Count Orlok. If you told me it was an actor that had never been in a film before, I would not question it. A beguiling and brilliant transformation and performance.

Good time for everyone to checkout PATHS OF GLORY, so long as we’re talking about the bravery of disobeying orders and the prideful retaliation of little men in power.

It’s a masterpiece.

This is why my fellow countrypeople will vote to lose their own human rights: they’re fucking idiots.
Setting aside the obvious remarks about the British public’s voting record, what does this tired old guff even mean? Like that thing about whether you put the jam or the cream on your scone first, out it comes again, year after year, fabricated and meaningless. www.theguardian.com/film/2025/de...

The Brutalist

I’m drawing up two film watchlists for the upcoming holiday period:
- rewatches
- first time watches
I have huge gaps in my film knowledge. I try to correct them, by buying Battle of Algiers for instance, then get home and want to watch Die Hard 2. I’ve have Capernaum sat on my ‘To watch’ pile for about 3 years.

I do love proper ‘cinema’ but my heart truly beats for genre films and always will.

First timers:

A Better Tomorrow II

A Hidden Life

Battle of Algiers

Capernaum

Gladiatress

Impossible Object

The Last Emperor

Nightmares of a Damaged Brain

Stalag 17

The Strange Vice of Mrs Wardh

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me

SISU: ROAD TO REVENGE doesn’t hit the level of satisfaction that the first film achieved, but it ups the cartoonishness and has one of my favourite gags of the year.
