I feel like a 🐟 in a big podcast pond but here I am, probably the only podcast in the 🌍 about a river, the River Severn/Hafren/Sabrina UK. Expect archaeology, social & maritime history, myth & folklore, goddess worship, rights of Rivers, ecology & wildlife, music, Morris dancing, art, pubs & more

Lovely having a chat with Chris Saunders today, current owner of the Sabrina narrow boat! She was built as a showpiece, and she may have travelled all over the country but her home will always be Saul Junction 🌀

Please spread this far and wide, as stories don't get much bigger than this. When the government blocks even the intelligence services from telling us we're heading for environmental catastrophe, you know we have a problem. A very big problem.
Thank you.

The UK government didn't want you to see this report on ecosystem collapse. I'm not surprised | George Monbiot
It took an FOI request to bring this national security assessment to light. For ‘doomsayers’ like us, it is the ultimate vindication, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

If we only invested more in nature, we would be healthier and happier. Who doesn't feel their spirits lift when hearing bird song on a spring day? Who doesn't love the splash of a water-vole or seeing the flash of orange and blue of a kingfisher flying by?
Nature doesn't have a voice but we do. 💚💚💚

January 27th - A Journey with Goddess.

Danu - a little known and rather obscure Celtic mother goddess. Very little was written about her; what we know is largely based on the Irish myth of the Tuatha Dé Danaan - a supernatural race whose name means 'People of the Goddess Danu'.

Wow! I love maritime history as it's our shared cultural history and how closely we have always lived with water 🌀
Buried in a pit under the Great Pyramid of Giza about 4,500 years ago, this is the Khufu Ship. When first uncovered, in 1954, you could still smell the scent of the cedar wood. Now housed in the new Grand Egyptian Museum
