it’s come to my attention that my tumblr post has been crossposted to bluesky, so I’m posting it on my account here #AntiAI #GenAI
recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best. It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence relies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't.

Remember, you dont actually need lots of followers here to have good reach/engagement; people might be following feeds you're on instead of you directly. Perhaps more important than all of these: Add alt text. #Vtuber #JustJihye
Top Tips From my feed Making Bluesky work Every time X does something more depraved, people return/come to Bluesky. The familiarity of the UI can lead people to forget that the platform does work in a very different way. There is a LOT of tips I have given in the past but let me pop some key ones below. 1) You aren’t pleasing an algorithm here, if you aren’t seeing what you want, I recommend that you search hashtags and keywords. From that, follow users you like, you can also search for feeds using keywords and follow those. Browse Bluesky using the feeds you sign up to more than the discovery feed. 2) Starter packs and lists are also a great way to find people to follow, but don’t use them to “follow all”, use them like a catalogue to browse for people to follow. 3) Click bait isn’t just ineffective here, it actively annoys most people. If you are a REALLY big person it might still work, but for most, it will just get you muted. Instead, actively engage with other people’s post. Repost interesting content, with your own thoughts added. Share interesting and fun things and start discussion. 4) Hashtags don’t just work here, They are ESSENTIAL. You can use them to be featured on feeds, but also people can block hashtags instead of you if you post a type of content they don’t like! 5) Correctly tag your NSFW content or you will get blocked and reported. It doesn’t affect your it literally just stops you showing up on the feeds of people who have blocked NSFW content so don’t want to see it. Speaking of which, you can customise how, if at all, you want to see NSFW content in your settings.

I was asked to use a cut-paper style for this piece, but as I don't usually work in that medium, I thought I'd try and emulate the look using acryla gouache instead! I think it turned out really cool.
