I still use word, excel, and powerpoint for documents over Google, but I wish Microsoft really fought to make their software as easy to use. Excel drives me nuts. The navigability of cells and entering the cell's text mode for example. For excel, [F2] on windows, and [fn+F2] on Mac. Google, [Enter].

Tonight is the first time in years I've been off of YouTube Premium. And honestly the biggest loss is I can't listen to my bedtime stories with my phone off and ad-free.

I practice doom scroll reflection to help reduce doom-scrolling. You give yourself x number of posts to read/watch, and you must remember all the posts and what they're about.

I changed the playback speed of a YouTube video I'm watching to 0.9x speed because I cannot keep up and tell myself I understand what's being said. A few YouTube channels I follow have adapted to fast paced speech that are common on other social media platforms. A good reason for the Speed slider.

My show is on.
I think @etymologynerd.bsky.social probably has a video on this, but I think my biggest weakness to social media, especially short form video, is how they seem to blend in to each other. When I watch one video into the next, it's as if there was no beginning, and is no end. Freaks me out.

I've been worldbuilding the last weekends. Made a continent in the Antarctic region, which is almost 7,000 miles long and reaches up to the sub-tropical ridge around 30°S.

I don't get to see many stars in LA when I'm going to bed at night. It's one of the things I miss from back home. But on the bright side I get a free nightlight atmosphere with all this light pollution.

I'm not a huge fan of literature that describes how a character sounds or acts after their dialogue. If I read the line jovially and then they tell me it was in a rude tone, I look like a fool having to reread it.
