Brind'Amour: "I hate it because be was really starting to find his groove at this level. Hopefully he'll heal and be good to go. Tough one to swallow, but it is what it is."

"I felt like we played how we wanted to. We controlled the game and just kind of stuck with it. Then in the third period, we took over. It was a really good win for us."

Brind'Amour says Legault went to the hospital but expects him to travel back with the team.

"It's not a good injury from what I'm hearing."

Canes had five breakaways, scored on zero of them and also hit the post four times.

They still managed to score five goals.

In terms of the overall game, Canes actually played pretty well, especially in the third period.

Little moments in there of defensive breakdowns though almost made it a throwaway game.

Canes hang on for a 5-4 win.

Good comeback after falling down 4-2.

Big worry now is Legault's status.

Hildeby out with under a minute to go.

Canes killed a ton of time in the Leafs end.

Stankoven. Brutal turnover by the Leafs and Carolina is back ahead.

Some good looks for PP1, which took the whole two minutes, but no dice

Kotkaniemi draws another call. Him and Robinson have been very good on the PK this year.

Staal to the box.

Huge PK coming up without the team's top option.

Canes trail 4-3 after two. Been a weird one.

Matthews barely misses out on putting a puck into an open cage, lands the puck on top of the net. Walker then knocks the net off the pegs.

Blake to the box for a slash. However, Benoit snapped his own stick it seemed. Doesn't matter though.

Canes conceded the lead on a late penalty in the first period, need better now.

Some angry Staal sightings once again. Standing up for Nikishin this time.

Walker's goal highlight reel this year is just a bunch of soft floaters he was trying to get someone to tip and just wound up going in somehow anyway.
