Patch birder in SW Cornwall
I had my first 3 figure count of Balearics since I moved back to Cornwall this afternoon. Around 75-80% were very dark ‘sooty’ like ones. My new spot at PG is great for good close views of them

2/3 With its emphasis on high carbon wildlife tourism, today’s Birdfair has a different focus from earlier years. BTO work has highlighted the impacts of climate change on birds, and because of our commitment to working sustainably, we no longer feel it is appropriate to take a stand at the event.

1/3 We’ve taken the difficult decision to not return to Global Birdfair as an exhibitor. While we recognise that Birdfair provides an opportunity to meet with members and volunteers, our continued investment in other ways to engage with supporters is proving to be a more effective use of resources.

Blogpost on an Eastern Yellow Wagtail type from 2015. A very interesting bird with a harsh, buzzy, rasping call & an appearance that looked really good for (plexa?) Eastern Yellow Wagtail.

A plexa Eastern Yellow Wagtail?
One Monday evening in Sept 2015, post-work, I decided to have a wander down to the pipe dump as my local spots around the village weren’t producing much. I walked across the field with the dog, but ag...

It’s that time of year when we dream of encountering magical birds like bluetails & OBPs. Here’s a post to give some hope & to inspire people to keep searching. Dreams came true for Ryan & me. Lighting struck twice - on the same day!
