Inspiring day today with the @coarassessment.bsky.social UK National Chapter brainstorming how to put Responsible Research Assessment principles into practice - and, for me, considering the commonalities with open and transparent research, and how libraries can lead/support.

It's true there are sustainability problems with S2O, but there is with virtually all academic publishing.

Why not strategically invest in a more sustainable alternative - the end game of which might be that the money doesn't come from the library and those budgets shrink accordingly

746 proposals for a total of 3M (about 13 will be funded).

If orgs spent 4000 in personnel time preparing their proposals on average, then this mechanism actually reduced funding for open science.

Open science is extremely underfunded.

Q - how do you deal with people co-opting the language of open for politically dubious purposes?

Today Altmetric is announcing a major development in collaboration with the Brain Occipital Lobe Learning Observation Centre Kalhausen-Strasbourg.

From today Altmetric will be able to determine what research paper you're thinking of, regardless of what you're actually writing/saying.
